Just under 17 (16.85). Compare that to the vans in the fleet I maintained at my last job, nearly all of them were under 15. They were E-series, Express/Savana, and Nissan NVs.

In one month!?

Do you love the driver’s seat or hate the driver’s seat

It’s perfectly adequate. The driving position is a little weird when you’re used to the old-school cargo vans, but you get used to it quick.

How is/was the reliability?

It had 15 miles on the odometer when the first thing broke on it. The sliding door handle’s release for when the door is held open broke. Other than that (fixed under warranty in less than 3 hours) it’s been reliable.

Reliability? The public transit organization I work for is considering a fleet of minibuses based on this van, but the thought of dozens of these in the fleet when we drive 22K PER DAY scares the crap out of me. Buy 5 and get a flatbed hauler for free? I think we’d need a few if our test vehicle was anything to go by.

I wish I could say, but our fleet is so new. One van recently lost its transmission. I think it’s under 100k. No one else has had any major issues, but another one of the vans seems like it’s had a stroke. It constantly tells the driver that all turn signals are out, but they work perfectly. Also that same van’s right side washer nozzle doesn’t work, and the drip tray under the windshield is funnelling water directly onto the engine. That can’t be good.

Wait, didn’t you spend most of your time at your old job ranting about how much they suck?

No, we didn’t have these at my old job. There is another opponaut that has one that is constantly breaking down though.

Charlotte Area Transit System just replaced their vanpool with a bunch of Transit vans. They’re good to drive and seem to get decent gas mileage (dash computer said average of 18-20 on the four I drove)

Only when it’s empty. If you do that when it’s full, shit’s gonna be like a yard sale inside.
